DESCRIPTION:Come join the library Book Club as they discuss Amanda Peters award-winning novel The Berry Pickers. This lauded debut novel traces the lives of two Mi’kmaq siblings separated when four year old Ruthie is stolen from her family and raised by a white family. Brother Joe\, six at the time of Ruthie’s disappearance\, never forgives himself for her loss. Their separate lives and eventual reunion are powerfully told by author Peters\, herself of both Mi’kmaq and settler ancestry. \nThe library book club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 1PM. Books are chosen for the next meeting at the close of the current discussion. Come join us!
