We’ll go over the rebates available for Maine homeowners and what additional federal funding will be coming with the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act. \nColin McCullough is a BPI-certified Home Energy Auditor who has worked for several state energy efficiency programs for 12 years\, advising homeowners on the most efficient options for a more affordable\, comfortable and safe home. He is currently renovating his 110-year-old home in Farmingdale to achieve Net-Zero Energy status.

SUMMARY:Special Story Time with Author Matt Forrest Esenwine
DESCRIPTION:The library and Mr. Wes are hosting a very special story time with acclaimed author Matt Forrest Esenwine. \nA former radio broadcaster\, Mr. Esenwine first published a poem in 1984 when he was still in high school. In 2012 hispoem\, “Apple-Stealing” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and in 2019 he was the recipient of the MacGregor Poetry Prize\, coordinated by the Robert Frost Farm board of trustees and Derry (NH) Public Library. \nHis debut picture book\, “Flashlight Night” (Boyds Mills & Kane\, 2017)\, received numerous positive reviews including a Kirkus star and was selected by the New York Public Library as one of the Best Books for Kids 2017. He now has a dozen books out or under contract\, including “Once Upon Another Time” (Beaming Books\, 2021)\, co-authored with his friend\, Charles Ghigna (aka\, Father Goose®). \nMr. Esenwine will share his books and love of writing with us in what’s sure to be a fantastic event – don’t miss it!  You can find out more about Mr. Esenwine and his books on his web page\, http://mattforrest.com/ \n \n

SUMMARY:Pop Art Collage Workshop with Michael Albert (all ages)
DESCRIPTION:New York collage artist Michael Albert (https://www.michaelalbert.com/) currently lives and works in White Plains\, New York. Mr. Albert is nationally known for making collage artworks from cereal boxes and other printed cardboard consumer brand packages. His work has been described as across between Pop Art\, Cubism & Recycling. \n\nAlbert’s Frosted Flakes Box Collage was his official beginning as a Modern Pop Artist back in 1996. He calls that collage\, ‘The Birth of Cerealism’!  Since that breakthrough creation\, he has created over 700 collages from cereal boxes\, and thousands more with different themes\, all artworks using the same everyday materials. He says that his true goal is to create a masterpiece worthy of hanging in a major museum.\n\nHe will be bringing his nationally renowned “Modern Pop Art Experience” Art Programs to Pittsfield on August 7. He has been running this program for over a decade and has brought it to over 1\,000 libraries\, museums\, arts events and schools in 43 states.\n\nMr. Albert will introduce himself to the group\, show examples of his works and tell the group about the project they are about to do: a HANDS-ON COLLAGE WORKSHOP where the participants get to create their own collages using the same materials he uses to create his own works of art.  The 2-hour program finishes with a FREE POSTER GIVEAWAY & SIGNING – Mr. Albert brings about 20 different prints for each participant to choose from as a special gift for coming to the event.\n\nThis is a free\, family-friendly event open to the public.  Limited to the first 45 individuals; you may reserve a space at the library prior to the event to guarantee participation.
