An Evening with Maine Author David Rosenfelt to Benefit the Somerset Humane Society
August 5 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Pittsfield Public Library and the Ann B. McGowan Maine Writers Series are pleased to present an evening with Maine author David Rosenfelt to benefit the Somerset Humane Society Animal Shelter in Skowhegan. David is donating his speaking fee to the shelter, and we encourage those attending the talk to bring in items from the shelter’s wish list (found here: https://shsanimalshelter.com/animal-shelter-donations/)

David calls himself “a novelist with 27 dogs,” and his Andy Carpenter mystery series is filled with both dogs and his signature humor. David began writing after a career in Hollywood that culminated in becoming President of Marketing for Tri-Star Pictures. Along the way, he and his wife found time to start the Tara Foundation and find homes for more than 4,000 dogs – 25 of which moved cross-country with them when they relocated to Maine.
USA Today writes, “In Shamus Award-winning author David Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter novels, a reluctant attorney and his faithful golden retriever face a dog-eat-dog world. An unabashed animal lover, Andy has a reputation for saving both dogs and humans from Death Row. With the help of his beloved dog Tara, Andy solves cases and wins courtroom battles in this acclaimed series of legal thrillers. This humorous and heartfelt series is “a treat for dog lovers, but it’s also a great way for mystery lovers to spend time with a terrific storyteller.”
The library is thrilled to offer patrons their own chance to spend time with a storyteller par excellence, all to benefit the Humane Society.

This talk is free and open to the public in the Warren Community Room. David’s books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
