The Library Book Club Reads The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek
November 12 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Come join the Library book club as they discuss Kim Michele Richardson’s novel, The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. Set in rural Kentucky in the 1930s, the book follows the life of 19 year old Cussy Carter, one of the last of the Blue People (a group suffering from a rare inherited disease that turns the skin bright blue). Fiercely independent, Cussy joins the Packhorse Librarians and struggles to find herself as she brings book to rural Kentuckians.
Per Goodreads, the book is “a DOLLY PARTON RECOMMENDED READ, a Goodreads Choice award nominee, and has earned the 2020 PBS Readers Choice, 2019 LibraryReads Best Book, Indie Next, SIBA, Forbes Best Historical Novel, Book-A-Million Best Fiction, and is an Oprah’s Buzziest Books pick and a Women’s National Book Association Great Group Reads selection.”
The library book club is open to all and is actively seeking new members. Come join them!
